In the late 19th century, Midtown was considered one of the finest neighborhoods in Atlanta. Mansions lined Peachtree Street and Piedmont Park had just been developed. Roughly a century later, the Midtown Alliance was formed to continue to improve and maintain the neighborhood’s safety, arts and education programs and overall quality of life. Today, Midtown is considered both a commercial district as well as Atlanta’s “Heart of the Arts.”
