Metro Brokers was founded in 1979 with one office, a handful of agents, and a unique business model that focused on providing Realtors with everything they need to best serve clients. Now celebrating 40 years in business, Metro Brokers has grown into the largest real estate company in Georgia and one of the top Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate franchises in the world.

1979

Metro Brokers is founded in 1979 by John Hartrampf with one office and a handful of agents.

1981

The Call Center is established, live answering calls and transporting messages to agents long before voicemail and texting.

1985

Kevin Levent joins the company as a sales agent.

1986

Metro Brokers Financial is founded.

1989

Levent is named top company sales agent in 1989 and again four of the next six years.

1993

Metro Brokers Insurance is founded.

1995

Metrobrokers.com is launched, one of the first real estate portals for online customers.

1996

Kevin Levent is named the new CEO of Metro Brokers.

1997

Metro Brokers announces its partnership with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

1999

Broker Support is formed with 3 initial brokers taking calls.

Upon launching Microsoft Exchange, each agent receives their own dedicated email address and inbox.

2000

Metro Brokers Academy of Real Estate is founded.

MetroNet goes online, one of the first real estate intranet portals.

 

2001

Metro Brokers affiliates with GMAC Real Estate.

Metro Title Trust is founded.

2002

Metro Brokers hits 1,000 agents for the first time in company history and is the first company to reach 1,000 agents in the state of Georgia.

2003

Metro Brokers is named the largest GMAC Real Estate Brokerage in the nation.

2007

Metro Brokers launches Open House Pool to agents.

2009

Metro Brokers re-affiliates with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate and Coldwell Banker Commercial.

Acquired ERA United - one of the largest ERA brokerages in the southeast - as well as multiple Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Exit Realty and many independent brokerage operations.

2014

Dotloop is implemented into the business structure.

2016

Metro Brokers becomes one of the first companies to implement ZAP to its agents.

2017

Metrobrokers.com gets a significant facelift, earning high praise from the industry.

2018

The new MetroNet launches with an app interface for agents.

2019

Metro Brokers is the largest real estate company in Georgia with more than 2,400 agents and opens its 27th office in Midtown Atlanta (coming in 2019).
