Covington, GA
Covington is located 35 miles east of Atlanta and is the county seat of Newton County. The city has been the location for filming scenes in dozens of popular movies and television shows, such as The Vampire Diaries, Selma, several Tyler Perry movies, The Walking Dead and The Dukes of Hazzard.

Named after Brigadier General and Congressman Leonard Covington, the city was founded in 1822. General Sherman’s March to the Sea went through Covington in 1864 and the city was looted and several buildings were destroyed.
