Buckhead, GA

Image of the Buckhead, GA
Buckhead, a district of Atlanta located in Fulton County, is a major hub of the city. It’s the third-largest business district in the city and is populated by high rise buildings and surrounded by residential neighborhoods.

Quick History

The original plot of land for Buckhead consisted of 202.5 acres and was purchased by Henry Irby in 1838 for $650. The district allegedly got its name when Irby killed a buck and placed its head in a prominent location in the area. After World War I, the city’s affluent residents started building their mansions in Buckhead.
