Atlanta Real Estate by County

DeKalb County

Located east of Atlanta, DeKalb County is the second largest county in the state with a population of about 705,000.  Though rural until the 1950s, the DeKalb of today features residential neighborhoods, office and industrial parks, hotels, shopping centers, universities and health centers. DeKalb County prospers in part due to its excellent transportation system.  Five major road arteries traverse the county: Interstates 20, 85, 285, 675 and US Highway 78.  Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is only six miles from DeKalb’s southern border.
