Atlanta Realtors hit the links at first Metro Mike Open
Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate hosted its first Metro Mike Open golf
tournament on Thursday, Aug. 23rd. Exclusive to Metro Brokers, more than
100 of the company's sales associates and their guests came to Bear’s
Best golf course in Suwanee to have a day of fun in the sun.
Twenty teams of three or four golfers battled 100 degree heat through 18
holes for a shot at taking home the first and second lace trophies. The
second place trophy went to Rick Musto of the Forsyth office, Jim Lewis
of the Gwinnett office, and two of their guests. The first place trophy
went to John Baker of the Douglasville office and two Metro Brokers
Financial loan officers,Davis Land and Jeff Roland.
“It was a pleasure to get together with sales associates from other
Metro Brokers offices,” Baker said. “I always like the sense of
camaraderie I get at these types of events.” The tournament gave sales
associates an opportunity to network and interact with members of every
department in the company: Metro Brokers Insurance (MBI), Metro Brokers
Financial and Metro Title Trust.
“I do a lot of business with Metro Brokers Insurance, so it’s nice to
meet some of the people working on my behalf,” said Brian Spears of the
Perimeter office, who teed off with John Gale, asset protection
specialist for MBI.
Molly Brandenberger, events coordinator, was on hand to raffle off more
than $2,000 in prizes. Some of the items included free golf lessons, a
box of Buckhead Beef,Buckhead Life and Morton’s restaurant gift
certificates, tons of golf gear, and a one night stay at Brasstown
Valley Resort.
Bob Kingdon of the Perimeter office was the man of the hour, winning
four of the prizes in the raffle. "There were a lot of great sponsors at
the event, and it was really good to do something for the Habitat
program," says Kingdon. "The tournament was a lot of fun, and I can't
wait to play in it again next year."
In addition, Philamenia Rivers of the North Fulton office took home the
Brasstown Valley Resort package.
"Golf is the perfect way to wind down when I need a break, and this was
a great opportunity for me to meet a few new golf partners," Rivers
said.
Due to the success of the tournament, Metro Brokers is planning on
making the event a yearly tradition. All proceeds from the tournament
went to this year’s Habitat for Humanity build. More donations are
needed before the start of the build on Oct. 12.
