More than 800 awards, $50k in prizes at annual awards celebration

Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate recently hosted its largest event ever at the Cobb Galleria, with more than 1,200 sales associates and guests in attendance.

The company’s annual awards celebration has grown into a production of epic proportions, and each year tops the performance of the last with the spotlight centered on Metro Brokers’ sales associates and staff. This year’s theme was “Mission: Possible” because 2006 was a record year for Metro Brokers, even in the face of a so-called “impossible” Atlanta real estate market.

Before any awards were presented, President and CEO Kevin Levent discussed the success of Metro Brokers in 2006. He quoted a recent report by the Atlanta Regional Commission that indicated the population in the metro Atlanta area would grow by an incredible 46 percent in the next 25 years, bringing the population to seven million people.

He went on to announce the growth of Metro Brokers during 2006, including the opening of four new offices: Stonecrest, Northlake, Paulding and Hamilton Mill. He also mentioned the recent expansion of the Perimeter office, bringing the corporate campus to 38,000 square feet. Innovations during the coming year were also touched upon including the recently released Open House Pool and the upcoming, content-rich agent websites.

“At Metro Brokers, you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself,” Levent explained.

As always, sales associates took part in a variety of prize giveaways that featured Dell laptops, LCD flat panel TVs, digital cameras, registrations to the 2008 GMAC National Business Conference in Las Vegas, free advertising in the AJC and The Real Estate Book and, of course, tons of cash. In fact, the grand total value of prizes for this year eclipsed totals of the past, with Levent giving away more than $50,000 in prizes.

On Sunday, March 25, Metro Brokers’ more than 800 of the top award winners will be recognized by more than 550,000 readers of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) with a 16-page advertising supplement.
