Meeting kicks commercial real estate and business brokerage divisions into high gear

Yesterday’s combined Atlanta commercial real estate and business brokerage meeting was conducted in front of a standing room only crowd of 122 sales associates.

Several speakers discussed goals and objectives of the commercial and business brokerage divisions in 2006. Vice President of Operations Joe Dabbs announced there are now nine commercial and 12 business brokerage classes worth a total of 66 hours of continuing education (CE) credits. In addition, Metro Brokers plans to add commercial and business brokerage post-license education classes by the end of 2006.

Associates who complete either the entire commercial series of CE classes or the full set of business brokerage CE classes will be recognized for their achievement. For example, when an associate becomes certified in either commercial or business brokerage, they will receive a wall plaque, lapel pin, free set of business cards, and be able to use the certified designation logo in their marketing.

President and CEO Kevin Levent added that Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate is the first and only real estate company in Atlanta that provides their associates free commercial and business brokerage training.

Dabbs also announced a new three part plan for commercial and business brokerage - image, education, and recognition. Metro Brokers plans to increase its image in the media as a commercial and business brokerage company; provide its associates with more education and training; and recognize top producers with monthly, quarterly and annual awards.

Levent took the opportunity to hand out certificates and plaques to the first monthly and quarterly award winners from the final quarter of 2005 as well as crystal trophies to the top producers for 2005:

    • November 2005 – Van Watkins of the North Fulton office
    • December 2005 – Joseph Pettit of the Gwinnett office

Levent also announced Paula Byrd and Dan Hinson provide broker support for commercial real estate and business brokerage respectively. They were hired to facilitate the entire transaction process from listing to closing.

In addition, Dan Hinson puts together monthly newsletters for the commercial and business brokerage meetings.

Business Brokerage meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the corporate office and commercial meetings are monthly on the fourth Thursday at the corporate office. Any Metro Brokers associate who wants to learn more about commercial or business brokerage is welcome to attend.
