Hamil Awarded 2011 Rookie of the Year by West Metro BOR

May 21, 2012

Jenny Hamil of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers’ Carroll office was recently awarded Rookie of the Year by the West Metro Board of Realtors for 2011.

Rookie of the Year is based on multiple factors including: Sales, board involvement, maintaining a supportive Realtor attitude, willingness to seek instruction and training, and showing initiative and follow-through on ideas suggested by fellow Realtors.

“Jenny followed all of these requirements to the absolute letter,” commented Julie Straton, a fellow Realtor out of the Carroll office and a member of the deciding committee. “She has done absolutely everything we suggested to her and she’s done it very well. She’s making great strides in real estate and we’re so proud of her!”

Hamil started in real estate in December of 2010. She has always had a passion for the home, so when she was seeking a career change with flexibility and limitless earning potential, real estate was at the top of her mind. In just her first year in real estate, Hamil closed 8 transactions, mostly from reaching out to her sphere of influence. She spent 2011 working on bank foreclosures and buyers, finding her niche with first-time home buyers.

Very early on, upon the direction of some of her fellow BHGRE Metro Brokers agents, Hamil reached out to the West Metro Board to see what she could do to help. Throughout 2011, she worked with other Realtors to plan networking events, and she also attended many Board functions.

“I’ve now signed up to help with the committees for the 2012 year,” Hamil commented. “I quickly realized that being involved with the Board was a great way to mingle with Realtors from other offices and stay in the know with what is going on with real estate at the state and federal levels.”

Hamil is now even more involved with the Board, in addition to her previous involvement with the Special Olympics of Georgia where she helps coach the volleyball, swimming, and bocce ball teams. She is also the Office Meeting Leader for the Carroll office for 2012.

“In 2012, my goal is to be more aggressive with trying to go out and get new business,” Hamil said. “After gaining a year of experience, I’m more confident and comfortable in doing this.”

With so many accomplishments after only one year in real estate, Hamil is definitely on her way to achieving even more success!
